If you find that Mozilla VPN is disconnecting or turning off after being activated, you can try the below steps to resolve this issue. These steps are also helpful if Mozilla VPN is connected, but websites fail to load.
Restarting Mozilla VPN is a quick way to fix minor connection problems or glitches.
Close the Mozilla VPN app completely.
On mobile, swipe it away from the recent apps list.
On desktop, right-click the Mozilla VPN icon in the system tray or menu bar and select Quit.
Reopen the app and try connecting again.
Sometimes a quick restart can reset network settings and resolve hidden glitches:
Restart your device.
Open Mozilla VPN and try connecting again.
An outdated app can cause compatibility issues so ensure you're using the latest version of Mozilla VPN. Download the most recent release.
Try running the client as the administrator. Sometimes running the app with elevated permissions can help.
Click the Windows icon in the taskbar.
Enter Mozilla VPN and select "Run as Admin".
Disable Firewalls (Desktop)
Other firewall or antivirus apps may conflict with Mozilla VPN. Try disabling them or allowing an exception for Mozilla VPN.
Note: For assistance and instructions, consult the official support documentation for your specific application. It should offer comprehensive information, troubleshooting, and even detailed guides in case of any issues.
In the Windows Start Menu search bar, type Allow an app through Windows Firewall and click the first result.
Click the Change Settings button at the top right of the window to make changes.
The Allow another app button should highlight. Click the Allow another app button close to the bottom of the window.
Click Browse.
Navigate to the VPN by going through the following path: This PC > Windows (C:) > Program Files > Mozilla > Mozilla VPN > MozillaVPN.exe
Click Add.
Go to the Allowed apps window.
Look for mozillavpn.
Make sure the Private and Public boxes next to it are checked.
Click OK at the bottom.
Restart the system.
Open System Preference.
Click the Security or Security & Privacy icon.
Select the Firewall tab.
Click the lock icon in the preference pane
Enter an administrator name and password.
