I have checked my history, looking for something downloaded after the last correct file name listed in status bar. My grease monkey scripts were showed last modified on that same day. So I tried to download a simple text file as was my last correct download file with scripts disabled and still listed the file name as whatever the link name is. IE "download.htm". The status bar seems to be copying the link name instead of the file name. I also downloaded two apps Teracopy and IPmsg. I have two other computers, vista 64, and xp. Both upgraded to FF12 all have same extensions but win 7 only machine affected with this problem.

Sorry, but I'm having difficulties understanding the problem you're describing? Could you write back and provide some more context? Some specific questions:

Start Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Thank You for the replies;

Cor-el, Safe Mode worked, downloads names returned. Will have to try enabling extensions one at a time until I find the bad one. It was the next step in the process, I was hoping for a magic answer. Some of my extensions as you can see were carried over by rewriting the .xpi file. If anything maybe "djst" will learn something out of this. I let you know what I find. The image below is a screen shot of my XP system running FF 12. The status bar is there. ;) UPDATE: will add pic: Here it is!

ImissFF3.0 ;)
