Sorry, I didn't realize that Bindwood was an extension which is used to "share bookmarks" with other users, when I first viewed your more systems details. That is an error with the Bindwood extension, I suppose.
See this Google Search for more information about Bindwood.

Start Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
See:
This can be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.
Have you tried disabling Xmarks to see if that extension and service is causing that problem?
Disable xmark has no effect, and it is adding bookmarks even i safe mode (!)
in the error console I get this msg:
Bindwood: Problem saving updated bookmark to Couch: message: 'aValue is null', reason: 'undefined', description: 'undefined', error: 'undefined', raw error: '{"message":"aValue is null","fileName":"file:///usr/share/mozilla/extensions/%7Bec8030f7-c20a-464f-9b0e-13a3a9e97384%7D/bindwood@ubuntu.com/modules/bindwood.jsm","lineNumber":1574,"stack":"(267730,\"title\",false,null,1303585189601655,2)@file:///usr/share/mozilla/extensions/%7Bec8030f7-c20a-464f-9b0e-13a3a9e97384%7D/bindwood@ubuntu.com/modules/bindwood.jsm:1574\u000asetItemTitle(267730,null)@:0\u000a()@chrome://browser/content/places/utils.js:1183\u000a()@chrome://browser/content/places/utils.js:1285\u000ainit()@chrome://browser/content/bookmarks/bookmarksPanel.js:5\u000aonload([object Event])@chrome://browser/content/bookmarks/bookmarksPanel.xul:1\u000a"}
