After it runs for a bit things slow down; there is an "Active Desktop Recovery" window open at all times like a screensaver
If I log out and log back in generally runs normally. Tends to slow down over time until response gets very groggy and I log out again. There is an Active Desktop Recovery page when the screen first comes on and I can't get rid of it.

It says I have Micro. XP pro 2002 service pack 3

Hi. Tried to follow those prompts but couldn't.
When I click on the "start" button, "settings" doesn't come up. I tried other things but could not follow the series of instructions in order to turn off the active desktop default. I also don't know if that is related to the slowness or not. That active desktop recovery page coming on and the slowness seemed to start around the same time. Is there a way to check if some undetected program is running in the background?
Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if this helps.
Does it work any better in a Private Browsing mode window?
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.
