After update, can I turn off notification that an update has occurred?
I use Firefox on nearly 70 different machines in full screen to display information around my business. I want Firefox to update automatically so I'm always on the latest release. However, after the update, I do NOT want an additional tab alerting that the browser has updated nor the pop-up in the upper left asking me to click through to see what's new in the latest version that's been installed, as they grab focus from the informational webpage I'm trying to display.
Is it possible to allow automatic updates but receive no indication in the browser that the update has occurred. A "silent" update, if you will?

Try to set this String pref to 'ignore'.
- browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone = ignore
You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.
- Help -> Troubleshooting Information -> Profile Directory:
Windows: Show Folder; Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder - http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox

It will not allow me to set that string to ignore. Even if I edit the prefs file with the browser closed and save it, when I perform the next open it overwrites that line to the current version.
