Firefox seems to constantly re-order my favorites list. How can I set it so I control the order in which my favorites are listed?

With the list order constantly changing, apparently according to most recent use, I can't find my favorites quickly. I'd like to make the list in a static order, that I can change but Firefox doesn't

Are you using any bookmark add-ons? Do you use sync?

Where are you looking for the bookmarks?

Note that Firefox has some smart folders that show bookmarks based upon a database query (they can have recently in their folder name).
