on updated mozilla firefox 25 i go to my yahoo home page, every other thing i click on sending me to new page, ends up with error at top left, blank white page, says: the document has moved.

then i am forced to click on the link to go to page, so its an extra step i did not have to do until i updated, seems something is wrong with mozilla, does not happen in explorer.

i have windows 7 home premium on lenovo laptop

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

Hello,

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache. Note: This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to. To clear cache and cookies do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
  2. Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
  3. Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
  4. From the details list, check Cache and Cookies and uncheck everything else.
  5. Now click the Clear now button.

Further information can be found in the Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox article.

Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

Thank you.

I did precisely as you stated, it had no effect whatsoever. Is there any other thing I can do to fix/solve this? Please advise.

Hello,

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions and some Preferences.

  • Open websites will not be saved in Firefox versions lower than 25.

To Reset Firefox do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
  2. Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
  3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
  4. Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.

Thank you.

Thank you. I did try the safe mode, all worked well, so that led to next step which was one by one figuring out which extensions ( recall I had already tried clearing cache/browser/history) to no avail. Going down the list of extensions and turning on one by one, has led to what I believe the solution is; one particular extension was the problem one, so far as I can tell it was the Trust E tracker protection. I disabled it and now I am (so far) not getting that re direct "the document has moved".

I did not do the reset as I know it is a big hassle ( kind of like when you have to re download windows...) for me anyhow, its pretty drawn out since I have so many things going on and wanted to avoid it, till no other solution, so I tried the extension thing once I isolated it to that area and not the cache etc... I know reset does fix certain things, but I saved it as a last resort and am happy to report that I didn't have to go to that level. So I do thank you all for your responses and hopefully others will be able to use this method as well.

You're welcome.

Thanks for reporting which extension caused it.
