After upgrade to 9.0.1 firefox does not see my profile, not even in profile manager. I have created a new profile and copied the contents of the old one in and firefox again refuses to see it. A blank firefox page with "about" as the page is all that comes up. I need to know how to recover my old data.

The problem was this: on installing the new version of Firefox the profiles.ini file was deleted. When I finally realized that it was missing, I recreated it and immediatedly Firefox worked fine.

It beats me how this happened because I did nothing but let the update run on its own.
