Try looking in the uninstall program control panel for ToolbarUpdaterService.exe - you may be able to uninstall it.

If that doesn't work, it may be one of your add-ons. In that case: First, go to the Firefox button > Help > Restart with add-ons disabled. If that fixes the problem it means one of your add-ons is the cause. See Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems for steps to figure out which one.

Not in uninstall but I eliminated it by uninstalling the Yahoo Toolbar in uninstall

For XP, look here: C:\Program Files\StartNow Toolbar

You should see the uninstaller for the toolbar:

StartNowToolbarUninstall.exe

On my machine, toolbaruploader.exe is in the C:\Windows\prefetch folder, according to a search using the start/search route, and apparently was installed by a recent upgrade of the AVG Pro antivirus software. As an experiment, I just shut it down using task manager. So far, my machine hasn't crashed. :-)

The AVG added a bunch of irritating extras: So far I've deleted the Uniblue registry fixer thingy and would like to deep-six the AVG isearch toolbar.
