Bookmarks wont bookmark. I have tried the suggested solutions but still not resolved

When I click on bookmarks, I get the dropdown, but when I then click on Bookmark this page, nothing happens

Please check for the issue in safe mode

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.
