I want to increase the size of everything in Firefox, especially the type (font) size. I know how to increase or decrease the font size within documents, etc but not within Firefox as a whole

If you mean the fonts used by the browser itself, then the best way is to find a theme with a bigger font.

(If you're technically competent you and know CSS could also gooogle for userChrome.css)

If you mean the font size for every webpage, then try this addon
