I am using 159.1 on windows. When I type something in the search bar using Google, the search page flashes the results for a second and then tells me to enable JavaScript. Problem is that it IS already enabled in about:config.

I was using 154.1 and updated to 159.0. it worked perfectly with 154.1 and before. Now I updated to 159.1, but the problem persists. I am running windows 11. In Android it works.

I ran several tests, Did not work in trouble shoot mode, nor after flushing the cache, nor after deactivating the enhanced tracking protection, but did work when I created a new fresh profile. So there must be a problem somewhere in my profile.

Then I ran Firefox portable 156, and it worked like a charm with my normal profile, which was stored in the portable installation. Will try updating the portable to version 159 to see whether it runs.

It seems that the portable editions are somewhat more stable than the normal windows ones.

Found the problem. The Disable JavaScript extension somehow stuck in the disabled mode for google.com when I updated to FF 159. That persisted even after flushing cookies and running with all extensions disabled in the troubleshoot mode.
