Firefox 158.0.1 is the current Release if you check for updates on the Fx 157.0.1 or download from https://www.firefox.com/download/all/desktop-release/

Firefox 159.0 is currently on the Beta tecst channel at 159.0b5 build and Firefox 160.0 (160.0a1) is currently being worked on the unstable Nightly development channel.

Firefox 161.0 is not be being worked on yet.

In general your current version should offer you updates to 158 now, and to 159 starting tomorrow.

Higher versions are currently only available as a preview, you can read more on firefox.com/channel if that's what you're looking for.

Ok so Firefox 161.0a1 is already on the Nightly development channel as of Oct 22.

That page needs to be better in mentioning what is current and if new version on a channel is coming very soon as it currently looks like Fx 160.0 is not available at moment though schedule says it is on Beta channel as of Oct 22 with no 160.0b1 build yet. Though the https://whattrainisitnow.com/calendar/ does a more accurate job on that.

Would rather Mozilla went back to a more relaxed release schedule instead of speeding things up even more so.

Unless you want to be a Tester and use bleeding edge on new things that may be a work in progress where there could be issues until things are finished, fixed or reverted. This Nightly channel gets updates each day and is meant for testers/devs who understand how to have multiple Firefox installs and use separate Profiles for each and not share profile.

Also Firefox does not update from one channel to another like say from Release to Beta or Nightly. The newest version will be the Firefox 159.0 release on Oct 27.
