amazon.com works. but amazon prime videos hangs up -- the first page htat comes up always has an add and a watch now button. instead of getting the arrow to watch, i get a rotating pizza and it never loads the video

I have the same problems with Amazon videos. This started after a recent Firefox update, I believe. Running latest Firefox on OSX.
Could you switch media.gmp.decoder.enabled to false in about:config + restart to test potential fix?
Figured it out: under ADD-ONS --> PLUGINS, the new Widevine Content Decryption needs to be switched off> it is for HTML5 encryption, which clearly is NOT amazon Prime. Switch it off, things play again
I figured it out -- the new drm manager thing is turned on under extention --> plugins--> Drm Manager;
If I go to Settings, Extensions and Themes, Plug Ins, then click the Widevine Content Decryption Module provided by Google Inc, there is only an "off" to stop it from updating automatically. How do you "switch it off"?

Does anyone have a fix to this? None of the suggestions above amount to anything.
Yes, version 159 is working. Update when it's available for you.
Not available to me:

Disabling Widevine Content Decryption on Firefox 158 did NOT work for Amazon and also prevented Netflix from running
