Quit your bitching. We don't need your attitude here. We're volunteers who spend time here to assist users. If you've been using Thunderbird for 20 years, you should have some concept of doing backups by now. Sometimes software has problems. A little prep work, such as not allowing auto updates and to periodically backing up your profile, lets you be in charge of your destiny instead of laying it all here. If you want to go to a prior version, click the windows key and the 'r' key and at the window enter

    thunderbird.exe -p --allow-downgrade

this process usually works, but there is always risk in returning to prior versions.

Well I looks like the scatter gun approach here.

Back in September Wayne closed one of your multiple topics, and left one open. No one replied, I rally do not understand why. Perhaps the lack of information was a contributing factor.

But now we have that topic. As well as This and you have filed yet another. at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1395823

What do I not see in all these topics. Information about what the problem is.

By reading multiple topics I have managed to piece together. the following. "Thunderbird is not working since the last update" what update? When? To what version? are the obvious starting points. "Thunderbird not workinbgf right" whatever that means to you, it tells me nothing, but tends to contradict the previous statement. Is it working or isn't it? "can't see my mail in version 102" ok so now we are getting somewhere. It appears there is some problem with seeing mail. Even your earliest topic you say "I have all my mail I have saved for 20 years I can't see anymore since update" so lets use that as a starting point.

Perhaps you can post a screen shot of your Thunderbird showing exactly what the visual issue is. I can think of quite a number of issues that you might have encountered, from Thunderbird loosing your profile to third party software blocking access to Thunderbird. I have no idea what may be the issue, because you simply have no provided enough information, beyond ranting and wanting to go back to an old version, which is clearly not working for you.

I have had some shocking update experiences with Thunderbird over the past years.

Version 68 brought on these issues https://thunderbirdtweaks.blogspot.com/2019/09/i-lost-my-profilemail-on-update-to.html Version 78 was not great either. https://thunderbirdtweaks.blogspot.com/2020/07/my-experience-in-updating-to.html V78.1 was better https://thunderbirdtweaks.blogspot.com/2020/07/is-v781-better-than-v78-for-me.html

So I know where you are coming from. But unless you can loose the attitude and work with folk to a solution, I would be better off just deactivating your account as I really do not need more drama right now.

Can you express yourself to actually say what the issue is? I genuinely have no idea at this time what the issue really is, beyond generalities. None of them detailed enough except to get the idea Thunderbird is not meeting your expectations.

After Thunderbird updated, did you get asked to set up your accounts again? like in my V68 blog post. Was the user interface just essentially blank as in my Version 78 post? or is your inability to see mails something different. I have seen topics where folk can not see mails simply because they are not on the default tab so you need to be descriptive. I do not know anything of you or your skills, so do I assume you are needing advice about using Tabs?

One bit of advice I can share is migrating profiles is completely changed from historical processes and going backwards has been made significantly more difficult in recent years and when you do so, some data loss is to be expected, which is why it has been made more difficult.

Well Matt thank you who just tell you hey very little problems with Thunderbird in the past 15 years I've been able to copy and install many solutions how many different devices but I'm but since September even my old old old old version has problems I don't know what if it's Microsoft but I know that the last three updates change something and I have basically I've lost 15 years of data I found a program that saved 50% that I was able to move to Outlook but that was 50% and I try to migrate my address and even using exports I could only get one address of the time the export not every last one of them I don't know what the hell's going on I've been a Firefox and Thunderbird user since day one I love these programs I come at least tell people about it the best stuff to use I can't believe that it's doing what it's doing I thought I tricked it out I added a fake account and all my stuff came back but then when I rebooted my computer everything disappeared again I can't figure it out even me seasons computer person over 35 years of repair experience cuz that's what I used to do for a living I still have my backups with MozBackup and manual backup to I still like to use it but I don't trust it anymore thanks

I get that, but you still leave me out in understanding.

I can help you with Thunderbird. I refuse to play with outlook. It is bad enough fixing it for my wife without the help of the moron the government employees to manage it in her department.

So you are still leaving me without any idea what the issue with Thunderbird is. I know exactly what you tell me, and while you only tell me "since September even my old old old old version has problems" I am none the wiser. Because I can not replicate or visualize what that might look like.

Can you please be specific. What is missing? How do you know it is missing? Maybe if I come at it this way we can make progress. Because I, or anyone else, has to understand what the problem is before they can even attempt to guess an answer.

You go to the motor mechanic and tell him there is a clunk, what is wrong? Don't let him look at the vehicle or even tell him what sort or model it is. Can he answer with anything useful? He might venture it may be something in the engine or running gear or body work, but that is mechanic speak for "I have no idea as yet".

So if you want to fire up your copy of Thunderbird and tell me exactly what the problem is, we may make progress. But you are integral to the fix, otherwise you would be needing to take the machine to a paid expert to work it out for you.
