I am trying to setup a mail account for outlook. But when I enter my email and password (both of which are 100% correct), the message says that "Configuration could not be verified". I'm using all the recommended settings and as mentioned, correct credentials (tried even copy pasting). It may be relevant to mention, that I use two step verification on my outlook account.

Have you created an APP password for Thunderbird to use? I suggest you do.

I have now and unfortunately it bears no fruits. Also it should be noted that I have been successful with adding gmail account, so it is likely an issue bound with outlook. Also, here is an image of the setup window: https://support.cdn.mozilla.net/media/uploads/images/2016-07-16-23-46-11-44a50f.png

Well, never mind then.

There is nothing in that window to offer any additional information.

What anti virus do you use? We find some of them very aggressive and they block the setup process for accounts. I did not mention this as I thought you had managed to set up one account already.
