Settings and content not synchronised when using different devices to access same Thunderbird email account

Hi. I'm a new Thunderbird user and am accessing my email on several devices (home and mobile). I am using IMAP not POP3. After a couple of days I am already noticing a lack of synchronisation between devices of settings (particularly QuickFolders), address books, and content such as sent emails (these only seem to be appearing on the device from which the message was sent).

As a 'newby' I am hoping that these issues are down to incorrect account settings by me as I have checked that they are consistent on each device.

Any advice very gratefully received, as the thought of having to repeat a manual setup of the interface and address book on each device fills me with despair.

If you are using IMAP, please check if you have enabled storing sent messages to the right folder. In Thunderbird it's in Account Settings > Copies & Folders.

As for the address book, you'll need some service to sync with. Personally I use Google Contacts and gContactSync add-on.
