The toolbar in Firefox for Android makes it easier to browse, search, and access your favorite features. You can customize its layout, switch between light and dark themes, choose your preferred search engine, use voice input, and scan QR codes, all from the toolbar.

Customize the toolbar layout

When you first open Firefox for Android, the toolbar will appear at the top.

However, you can customize the placement of the toolbar in Firefox for Android.

  1. Tap the menu icon (⋮) in the toolbar.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Tap Customize.
    • Choose your preferred theme: Light or Dark.
    • Select whether you want the toolbar at the top or bottom of the screen.
    • Pick a layout:
      • Simple: Minimal design
      • Expanded: Double-stack toolbar.

Firefox for Android supports voice search using your device’s microphone.

Use your phone’s camera to quickly open websites from QR codes.

  1. Tap the QR code icon in the toolbar.
