How can I lock my screen so it will not add stuff I don't want?

After browsing the internet, i find new stuff on my screen. Then I have to spend time deleting all the shortcuts I don't want. I have the home screen set the way I want it and don't want it to arbitrarily add short cuts I don't want or need. I hate it when it messes up what I have set.

The homepage settings allow disabling "recent activity".

For the actual shortcut tiles, if you set the number of rows to your linking, and fill all the sites in these rows, nothing new will be added. It's only the empty slots that are populated from your frequently visited sites.

If neither of that fits your workflows, you can chime in here: connect.mozilla.org/t5/ideas/please-split-quot-sites-you-save-and-visit-quot-into-two-options/idi-p/12734
