Why hasn't firefox 147.0.4 updated to firefox 148 ? The computer is windows 10 home 64 bit that is enrolled in extended security updates. The update has been released a few days ago I believe, in Canada,also I;m wondering if there is a button that is available in "about:config" that forces a update check. Thanks James

148.0 was updated today and somewhere the user profiles was changed; all website addresses for pw management were not able to connect. I have two computers on a home network; 1. a Digital Engine Win7 enterprise with Firefox ESR 115.33 operating OK, 2 is a CUBI mini Windows 10 Enterprise Firefox `48.0. I am in process of taking the windows 7 out of service and was doing some cleanup on home network and I noticed had a connection failure on the 2. machine. I looked at the browsers and discovered that the old firefox data is not on desktop as it once was, and I also noticed that the user profile for the about:profile was wrong. I need to restore the CUBI profile. I was moving some things around and lost continuity somewhere. II just remembered....there is a refresh on the control panel for mozilla. looks like this is going to work just fine. The old windows 7 makes a good traveling encyclopedia!

Ok I did a refresh; the machind took over recovered all the data files, repaired and cleared a path for restart of Firefox. and that failed due to a TLS handshake between Mozilla and Google.failed. I have mozilla, firefox, google and chrome accounts. All google accounts are logged out at this time; mozilla is logged in on the Win 7 machine and the failed refreshed machine needs to do the TLS....

Question: should I log in to google account and repeat a refresh? Seems like a dumb question

I answered my own dumb question.....I signed on to google and I guess Mozilla refress allowed the default browser to get the handshake but I noticed the settings were incomplete on my oped Firefox; once I set my tabs and prefs the web addresses were back to norm....I have a working pair of end of life OS PCs which are still going strong thanks to the Mozilla Open House! I have an imac 21.5-inch (late 2009) on my table with OS X El Capitan running on it. It has the following specifications: 1. Processor - 3.06 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo 2. RAM - 8 Gb 3. Graphic card with 256 Mb

I have not been able to update the OS to run most recent Applications, and most of it, the web browsers are not updating as well.

What should I do to get through? Thank you.

Anybody else having issues with this feature? It had been working well to send tabs from my tablet and phone to my desktop computer, which I have been doing due to the lame way that FF uses for filing bookmarks into folders on the mobile devices.

A few days ago I started seeing "unable to send" popping up after a delay, instead of "tab sent" which typically appears immediately. Sometimes, the tab is sent even though it says it wasn't and sometimes it will send it after repeated attempts, and other times it doesn't. My wireless network and ISP connection are high speed and reliable.

So far, the problem only appears when trying to send from mobile to desktop. Sending from the desktop to mobile seems to work fine. The problem started while using 147.0.4 and persists after upgrading to 148.

For those of us that do want to use AI for work performance enhancement purposes, I have a question and also a comment for the Development Team. Here is the scenario real quick. I use Mozilla Firefox as my trusted browser today and that means that I open other AI systems such as ChatGPT, Grok, Gemini, etc. within this browser and could at times be running multiple browser sessions at the same time. My question is, will the Mozilla new AI Features attempt to try and compete with my other chat sessions for data capture, response and participation if I keep portions or the whole system enabled? The last thing I need is Mozilla AI as the selected browser now interfering with my other work flow processes in anyway including just listening along which would significantly increase the amount of resources used to run the Mozilla AI in parallel with other AI systems on my computer. I have heavy work loads at times and am already experiencing browser delays in processing data (even when setting up separate project chats for specific tasks) because of too many added features within all of the AI systems like historical chat session quick links on the right side of the screen. That's a ton of data that ends up getting stored/cached, referenced and processed with each command executed. I don't mind using Mozilla AI within the browser for general personal surfing and Q&A purposes but I can see this potentially becoming a big issue for us creators working with large image data processing tasks in other AI systems via the Mozilla browser. I will unfortunately be turning all of these Mozilla AI features off to start because I am not sure there really is a clear separation path for resource allocations within the browser now keeping my experience fast and efficient. Most likely this will force me into using a different browser product for personal vs business until things are much clearer. Hoping to learn a little bit here and see that things like this are being taken into consideration, even if it is a product roadmap enhancement for release sometime in the near future. I’ve recently noticed that after a Firefox update, the browser has become very slow and unresponsive whenever I open multiple tabs, around 5–10. Before this update, I could open many tabs without any noticeable lag.

Now, new tabs take a long time to load, scrolling within open tabs feels choppy, and sometimes Firefox freezes for a few seconds before responding again.

I’ve already tried restarting Firefox, disabling extensions one by one, and clearing the cache, but none of these steps have improved the performance. I’m using Windows 10 and the latest version of Firefox.

Could anyone suggest what settings or troubleshooting steps I can try to fix this slowdown?
