Hi

OK so I was having some issues with firefox where I had to reinstall it and this did in fact resolve the issues I was having.

Problem I have is this though when I reinstalled it I first backed up my chrome folder which had all my custom CSS to move the tabs to the bottom of the header area and when I then reinstalled FF I then copied the folder back into my profile folder using the More Info under the help menu to make sure I was in fact in the right profile folder.

Problem is the code isn't moving the tabs and I seem to remember some issues with this the last time we had to fix FF that something had changed with the Chrome folders and such.

So what do I need to do to get my tabs back on the bottom again as I hate them up top!

I've added https://x.com as an exception site but it is still blocked.

After 2 days it used to finally load without my doing anything, but not now. I never loads using Firefox.

Tried You can reload webpage(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

   hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button

Tried: Clear the Cache and remove the Cookies for websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Settings), click the padlock icon (Clear cookies and site data) for the domain in the selected tab.

"Remove the Cookies" for websites that cause problems:

Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration or if userChrome.css/userContent.css is causing the problem.

   switch to the Default System theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
   do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Troubleshoot Mode start window

NOPE - lost all my bookmarks, extensions, settings - not going there again thank you

as for:

You can check for issues with Enhanced Tracking Protection. Firefox shows a purple shield instead of a gray shield at the left end of the location/address bar in case Enhanced Tracking Protection is blocking content.

   click the shield icon for more detail and possibly disable the protection 

the sheild has a slash thru it saying "enhanced tracking is off for this site" when i put my mouse over it.

Hello, I did everything mentioned in support articles, but the tabs on firefox are still crashing frequently, sometimes the first I open, sometimes it's the third... But it is making my work really difficult. I just installed an update when prompted by Firefox. Now I can't log into Hotmail.

FF 129.0.2 x64. The update restarted FF. Everything else seems to work OK. But when I go to Hotmail.com, at first it displays my Hotmail inbox - which is odd; all other webpages requiring a login were logged out when I installed the update, requiring me to log in again - but then it switches to an error:

Something went wrong and we can't sign you in right now. Please try again later.

The Microsoft account login server has detected too many repeated authentication attempts. Please wait a moment and try again.

The same Hotmail account is still logged in and functioning on Chrome. This is why I think it's a FF-specific problem.

I'm curious about integrating Internet Download Manager with Firefox. Can you provide a quick guide or steps on how to achieve this seamlessly? I know that addons have no power on special pages. I understand the security concerns and I agree. I would still like to at least open `about:about` from an addon, like e.g., vimium or just from a bookmark. Is that possible? And if so, how?

I want to turn off the hover preview feature. First I went in settings, but that disabled only the thumbnail (browser.tabs.hoverPreview.showThumbnails in about:config is set to false and saved). Then I went in about:config and manually set browser.tabs.hoverPreview.enabled to false as well, that disables the unwanted feature completely.

But every time I restart the browser it's turned back to true (just hover.Preview.enabled, not hover.Preview.showThumbnails). Can I save my settings? It's annoying that I can't opt out.

How do I add an existing 2nd email account to the Firefox Bookmarks. It keeps reverting to the my family account when I try to add a link to open an existing second email address

Hi, I've started my laptop after 3 days, opened Firefox web browser and all my tabs are closed / lost. If I try History -> "Recently closed tabs or windows" is greyed out. How can I recover all my tabs from this computer?

Recently, I have not been able to upload a video to YouTube. When I try to upload it, the upload is stuck on 0%. I tried another browser, and it worked fine. This has not been a problem until. I have uploaded many videos. The last time was about a month ago. So, maybe there is some problem with an update. Does anyone else have this problem or know the solution?

Version: Firefox 129 Ubuntu/Debian I'm using the Proton theme in Firefox and would like to revert the tabs to their previous, non-floating style. I've tried using the [profile]/chrome/userChrome.css method and enabling toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets, but this hasn't worked. Is there another way to achieve this? I am currently running Firefox on Windows 11 (24 H2) and today, like I have usually done a lot over the past years I opened Firefox, did some browsing, then I quit the app. When I later opened Firefox (version 130.0.1 (64-bit)) no a single of my open windows got restored.

I have been relying on Previous session being restored. Today however, it did not work, and the option to use "hanburger menu" -> History -> Recently Closed Windows" do not show my windows I had open.

How can I find my old sessions? Can I restore them somehow from backed up data?

I have 2 laptops, one for work and one personally. I was looking to set-up firefox on my personal laptop as well but noticed I cannot open developer console on a specific element by pressing 'q' anymore after right clicking.

This is a significant feature and I would like to keep using it. Is it possible to enable this feature on my personal computer as well? Since it is still enabled on my work device.

I have both Win7 and Win10 on separate drives. I have been migrating from 7 to 10. From all appearances Firefox on both OS's are sync'd. I have asked for my passwords to be sync'd, yet they have not migrated to Win 10. Bookmarks have so I know something is working. Any advice? Thanks Chris
