When using any search engine the results are a blank page.
A couple days ago I bought a new laptop with Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium. I installed Firefox and shortly after using it on the new laptop I can't get any search results from any search engine. This happens whether I go directly to google, bing or yahoo or if I use the search box in the upper right hand corner of Firefox. I have deleted and re-installed Firefox two times and no change. This is driving me crazy because I can successfully search using IE or Google chrome. I want to keep using my favorite browser but without search capabilities that will be very difficult.

Hi joetst2,
I'd try starting Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode. If you don't have the issue while all of your add-ons, extensions, and themes are disabled, you can try adding them back in one by one until you find the culprit. You should look at the Extensions and Themes troubleshooting guide and the Troubleshoot issues with plugins like Flash or Java to fix common Firefox problems article as well.
Hopefully this helps!
I determined the culprit to be the antivirus software that I installed on the new laptop. It was Webroot SecureAnywhere Antivirus 2012. I couldn't figure out where to go to change whatever setting was causing this with Firefox only. IE and google chrome where unaffected, but as I stated in my question I prefer to use Firefox as my browser. I uninstalled Webroot and installed McAfee and all is good now.
If anyone has insight on what setting needs to be tweaked to use with Webroot SecureAnywhere software that might be helpful for people having this issue in the future. I would also be very curious to know why this happened as well.
