How to open a html file (index.html) on my HD?
In the old FireFox the pull down menu allowed me to open any html file on my HD. How do you open a html file on the HD with the new FireFox?

That option is not on the Firefox button menu, but is still on the older Menu Bar menu. You can temporarily display the Menu Bar and make selections from there by pressing the ALT key or the F10 key. The option that you are seeking on the Menu Bar is File > Open File
