Tabs not opening when I press the "+" to the top right of tab bar

When I try to press the open new tab button ( the + sign to the top right) a new tab does not open. Please help!

Probably caused by the Ask Toolbar extension in Firefox 3.6.x versions, disable that extension or un-install it.
