Similar problem here too.. I enter a URL in the URL field and YAHOO snags it and returns a search page result. Google is set as my search engine still even though Yahoo snags the web addresses I enter...

Virus? Bug? How do I prevent?

Oh so I'm not the only one Kevin.

Any body else??

There is a similar thread on here about bing doing the same thing.

My first guess was the default search provider was an issue, but I tested that and can't find anything that would duplicate it.

Sounds like maybe something else took over via an install (like toolbars used to come with certain software) or you have an infection.

OK I sussed it out.

When you open up the Firefox browser at the top left corner there is a drop box titled Firefox,

Click it and go to Add-ons, Then just go through the sub menus and delete anything to do with Yahoo..... Restart and crack on.

Thanks Firefox for your severe lack of help................Kevin let me know if this works??
