When I close a popup window firefox wants to close the main window also

I have recently upgraded to firefox 4.0. Now when I have a pop-up window that I am finished with and close it Firefox wants to close the main window and all its tabs. I have to cancel the "multiple tab closing window" to stop this. Is this a configuration problem or a bug?

Is there a Close Window link in the pop-up window? If so, when you use it does the same thing happen, where Firefox want to close both windows?

Another thing - that might be caused by an add-on you have installed.
Do you have that problem when running in the Firefox SafeMode?
A troubleshooting mode.
You can open the Firefox 4.0 SafeMode by holding the Shft key when you use the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut. Or use the Help menu item, click on Restart with Add-ons Disabled... while Firefox is running.
To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the Firefox shortcut to open it again.

Thanks for your help It does happen if I close the window from a close window link. interesting enough, if I chose ok to close all tabs only the pop up window closes!!!!. I have tried your suggestion and it does NOT happen in safe mode with add-ons disabled now I need to go through and figure out which one . Thanks
