I have lost bookmarks and tabs, that whole tool bar. How do I regain them?

AnonymousUser

After the latest Firefox update, I have lost my familiar tool bar: no view, no favorites, no tabs, none of that. I want them back. BTW, this is my work not my home computer. I have XP2 at home.

This happened

Every time Firefox opened

Yesterday

Maybe the instructions in Bookmarks and toolbar buttons not working after upgrading will help.

To restore your bookmarks toolbar and menu bar we are going to separate these two things.

To first get your menu bar back Press ALT V T M in that order. Do not hold ALT, just simply press it to bring up the View menu. Then press V T M each in that order. Then you will have your menu bar back.

To get your toolbars back, since you have your menu bar back, go to View>Toolbars>Bookmarks Toolbar. And now you have your Bookmarks toolbar back. Problem solved!

Thanks, Chris and Moses.

I have my tool bar back with bookmarks. Does the new update have tabs, or am I missing something?

See Tools > Options > Tabs: [X] "Always show the tab bar"

See also Use tabs to organize lots of websites in a single window
