Is the purple firefox emblem appearing before the main search page posts a normal occurrence?

When accessing the main search page my android phone is briefly loading an image of the Firefox logo that is all purple. It then starts loading the main search page. When I try to open a pinned site it is very slow and times out frequently. I'm concerned that I have a virus.

Surprised you don't use the inbuilt Samsung browser, it is pretty much a copy of Firefox :)
