Moving messages around in local folders when using POP

h.e.neumann

I want to move email messages around in local folders, but "move" doesn't show even when enabled in settings when the account is POP3

However when using IMAP it is worse as the App keeps messing not only with the server messages an folders, but also with other devices.

The app doesn't support local folders with pop3 accounts.

The general feedback i've seen across platforms suggests the focus for the forseeable future is managing emails on the server, with pop3 enhancements being low priority for development. Github references #6160 & #9094

The imap protocol by it's design is meant to reflect changes made in the app back to the server, and synchronise such changes with other imap clients.

What is being messed up when using Imap? Maybe I can offer some assistance with that! For example you can control what happens on the server when deletions are performed from TB Android.

That's the problem here. E.g. I have a folder on my desktop computer into which I move order confirmations, with subfolders for each merchant. And it's all local. On the phone I don't need all those, so they go into the wastebasket, but I want to keep them on the server. Similar with a couple other categories. On the other hand I want to keep some emails on the phone in a separate folder for quick access, like mails with qrcodes and barcodes that I have to show somewhere away from home. I don't need that folder on the server nor the desktop. It also is impossible to access the server away from home if the place has no WIFI. All that is easy on the desktop and even on a fairly poor laptop that probably is weaker than my phone. In most regards TB for Android is already a nice step forward from K9
