I have left Shortcuts toggled on, since I want to see the 18 shortcuts that I have manually pinned. Fine so far.

I have unchecked Sponsored Shortcuts, but I still am seeing sponsored shortcuts added to my dashboard whenever I open a new article. What am I doing wrong?

So, those are not sponsored shortcuts. They are general shortcuts for the websites you visited. I'm not sure you can disable them, the only thing I can suggest is adjusting the number of rows and/or pinning more shortcuts, so that there are fewer free tiles left.

Hi,

What do you mean by "whenever I open a new article"? Do the added shortcuts have the "Sponsored" label? Does the issue persist if you enable sponsored shortcuts and then disable again?

When I say "open a new article," I mean that I click on a link in, e.g., Daily Kos, to read a story. When I exit Firefox, and later click on the Firefox link, shortcuts for the previously-opened Daily Kos stories appear, along with the shortcuts that I manually have pinned previously.

The added shortcuts have no label that I can determine.

I have tried checking Sponsored Shortcuts and unchecking it several times, including now that I have read your response. The unsponsored shortcuts still appear.

Now what?

Ahh, that's answers it. No wonder I cannot prevent them from appearing automatically.

Thanks for your help.
