I've clicked on the pencil at the bottom right corner...ZERO help. All I could find is the choice to "allow" or "not allow" recommended by & curated by staff. HELP ME MAKE IT STOP, PLEEZE.

See if this works for you: click the hamburger in the upper right corner > Settings > Home > Firefox Home Content > untick Sponsored shortcuts.
