Bookmarks missing from Sync, evewn if they were synced on old pc

Moved to different pc, logged into my account, all bookmarks gone. What is going on? The sync even synced with empty bookmarks, and I guess everything I bookmarked is gone now.

Sync is not a back-up service. Where is the old pc? Can you see the old pc in your account? https://accounts.firefox.com

Did not know that. Remember that sometimes in the past I was able to somehow just sync and get my bookmarks. Anyways. No old pc there, and I have places.sqlite from old pc. If that helps.

Rename the current one in your profile folder and then past the old one, restart Firefox, and cross fingers.
