Facebook scrolling out of control
Currently @ Ver. 102.0.1 Problem remains. Since the update to 102.0 my Win10 PC has problems with the page update. When the scroll slider gets near the bottom the page, new images begin to load. This reload results in 3-15+ newly loaded Fb posts scrolling past so fast as to be invisible. I have to keep my cursor on the scroll slider and, when the loading begins, start scrolling up if I want to have any chance to easily find the last post I was reading. I have seen this behavior, grossly exaggerated, when I was viewing a video. The reload caused the viewing to pause and upwards of 15 newly loaded posts scrolled past in this rapid manner. My work requires that I am able to view pages of Facebook posts and this is now massively time-consuming and intolerable. I may have to change browsers in spite of my reluctance to do so.

This issue has now been around for several months. It seems Mozilla is either not interested or not capable of resolving it. Altering Autoscrolling or Smooth Scrolling settings has no effect on the issue, nor does disabling all Add-ons. I'm still getting jumps of 4-5 posts for no reason whatsoever. This has now made Facebook in the latest beta build unusable. In the meantime I've dumped Firefox until a fix is brought out. No other browser I use shows this irritating behaviour. On other browsers this behaviour is simply not present.

I experienced the issue using the mouse for the first time today. Facebook is constantly changing its code and it may not be testing with Firefox. I have 101.0.1 installed on June 10.
Terry, the current version of Firefox is 102.0.1

Yes, I know that. I have started having the problem with an older version so it is not necessarily specific to any version.
Here's a short video showing the scrolling issue:

(heavily pixelized to not show info)
Note that if you drag the scroll thumb then you can expect such issues to occur as you continuously trigger a reload because you fix the thumb at the bottom of the scroll bar. You will have to release the mouse button as soon as new content starts to load to prevent this. You can test that by using cursor keys (Down or PageDown) to scroll to see whether the issue still happens.
Already tested
Same issue here! Thought is was just me!
Read through the previous responses and I now know it is a general problem and not due to my hardware or SW build specific to me. This is a real thing and is NOT due to any stuck keys or mouse problems. It ONLY happens, to me at least, in FB. As described you can scroll down for awhile and all of the sudden it goes bezerk exactly as others have described it. Not due to any settings or extensions either.
Hopefully Mozilla developers will find the problem. Until then I am using Chromium for FB browsing.
I have had this issue. Uninstalling Adguard seems to have helped.

I have this same problem and on all my computers with firefox 102.0.1 it jumps around on facebook and only facebook. When I use Edge it does not do this so I know its coming from firefox. So I have to use edge for browsing facebook. I tried everything to fix this shut off auto scroll and smooth scroll even cleaned cookies out. no good. I guess its up to Mozilla to fix this.
This seems to be across all, or nearly all, operating systems. Windows, and Linux user are reporting this. I'm on OpenSUSE Leap (stable) and have had this issue for many, many weeks now. As others have reported, disabling all plugins does not help.
One desktop and 2 laptops, all showing the same problem with scrolling on Facebook when using Firefox. The site is now unusable with Firefox and still no fix!
None of the tips given work. The problem still exists on all 3 machines.
No other browsers, Edge, Chrome, etc. show this behaviour.
Same problems here on 2 different PCs. I've also tried all of the suggested fixes without solving the problem, although it doesn't happen every time I use it. I love Firefox (not Mozilla's politics) but this is about to drive me away because I am an admin on several special interest pages, need decent access to Facebook and have no intention of bouncing between browsers..
I'm having the identical problem and the video nailed it. It's only a problem with my Facebook news feed. Group feeds and friends pages all load normally. I've tried everything that everyone else has and no luck. I can view most of my news feed after spending half an hour or more of scrolling. Scroll a bit, wait for Facebook posts to load until the jumping finally stops and then scroll some more. It's time consuming, aggravating and driving me nuts. But at least now I know it's not just me. I first started having the problem almost 3 weeks ago. It seems to be getting worse and worse.
I would probably switch browsers because of this FB problem that seems to not be addressed but it is like switching OS's, a PITA. Passwords, cookies, etc.I really like Firefoxes sync feature and I run multiple systems so it is really convenient. Are there other browsers that offer the same sync experience?
A bug report has been filed. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1781192
Updated to 103.0 64 bit this AM and it is still happening.
so it is not just me had it for a while now. is Firefox going to fix this. Like i said i reinstalled refreshed Firefox removed or disable all add on u have default there changed the mouse and still get it
Sounds like I am not the only one who is having the scrolling issues. And it happens on any computer I use. My husband keeps his facebook on Chrome and does not have these issues. I may have to put my Facebook on Chrome also if mozilla isn't able to fix the issue.
