Cannot install any addons in Firefox 100.0.1

more options

FF recently updated itself to 100.0.1 and since this time I have been unable to install any addons. Every time I try to install an addon, I receive the message 'Installation aborted because the add-on appears to be corrupt.' I have uploaded a screenshot which demonstrates this behaviour. This is just an example - all addon installations are affected. My existing addons are unaffected, but if I remove one and attempt to reinstall it, the same result occurs.

I never had that issues. Are you sure it's not a setting issue that is causing this or another Addon is causing this.

I disabled all my existing addons and tried installaing again. No change.

What if you removed all of them and reinstalled them? Make sure to note the Addons so you don't loose them. Sounds more like something is blocking the install and most likely is the A/V is suspect here.

The problem with removing them is that reinstallation will fail with the same error. I will try disabling my antivirus to see if that makes a difference.

Then what is your list for Addons. Could be it might not be for the right Firefox version or the current version on the Addon site is bad or wrong.

I tried it with the antivirus and firewall disabled. No change. I am thinking that this is a settings issue.

I have checked for updates and none are available for my addons. The problem occurs for all addons.

That's a odd problem of Addon install issue. I'll look at mine at home but I never had install issues unless that version incompatible with firefox would be the only thing that comes to mind. Try another that is known to work and see what happens-is all I can think of right now.

It is possible that (anti-virus) security software is causing the problem. Try to disable security software temporarily to see if that makes a difference.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support to see if that has effect.

Does it work to use this alternate installation method:

(A) Right-click the blue "Add to Firefox" button and choose Save Link As to download the XPI file to your computer.

If Firefox cannot save the file, then there could be a problem with the way the link redirects among Mozilla's servers.

If Firefox can save the file:

(B) Open the Add-ons page using either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
  • type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return

(C) On the right side of the page, click the wheel or gear button and choose "Install Add-on from File..." to open a dialog where you can select that XPI file.

Any difference?
