I am trying to login to some google products like adsense and gmail and i am getting secure connection failed while i still can login to google analytics and productforums

Sometimes i can visit google search and sometimes no, sometimes removing www. from the link works to google search but i doesn't work for adsense link as it auto put the www.

i have seen a lot of solutions here about the certificates but i couldn't solve it

how can i solve this problem ? it is only for google and it's products websites

"Something" is going around. Similar thread started yesterday: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1151744. That is unsolved, but you might glance through it for additional suggestions and what happened when that poster tried them.

@ werty20 ... i am from Egypt

@jscher2000

1- i am ok sharing the information and this is helpful too, because when i try to go to google.com only, it doesn't work but when i go to google.com.eg it works

2- i guess the problem is with how firefox works and how it gets the certification and let me tell you why i think so...

1a- because google opens on chrome

2a- i uninstalled the firefox and i went to my C drive cleared anything for mozilla then i installed a fresh copy and the problem is the same

3-when i compare between what opens and what not, i see when the link has www. in it, firefox can't get the certificate

when you remove it, it can get the certificate

problem is, google's htaccess force the www.

why i say that ...

I went to : chrome://pippki/content/exceptionDialog.xul

then i went to chrome and got the adsense link which is : https://www.google.com/adsense/start

when i request this link certificate on firefox .. it says no information available but when i remove the www. from it

it finds the certificate

......................

i hope that was helpful to whoever can get something from that

This seems to be a geographically localized problem, but I don't know what is causing it. For now, it seems easiest to use a different browser. However, if the problem in Firefox is not resolved in the next day, you could test Google Public DNS in case this is a DNS problem.

@ jscher2000

Well i was confused who i should report this problem to, google or firefox and i did to both

Because i don't remember my account password and this is what prevents me from using another browser ... it been a year since my last try to log in and i don't remember where i did save my pass

Thank you sir, for the fast response

Hi Eb-mark, if you saved the password in Firefox's password manager, you can view it on the Options page. See: Password Manager - Remember, delete and edit logins and passwords in Firefox.

However, if Firefox is only able to log in because of a persistent cookie, I don't think you can use that to recover your password.

No i didn't save it by password manager, i depend on backup of mozilla folder which has the saved cookie and this is how i switch from my laptop to another or desktop

i guess trying to solve this problem would be easier than recovering the password of my account ...

i also posted on google support forum, so let's hope one of the google or firefox team can help

Thank you again Sir

Check out why the site is untrusted.

  • click the "Advanced" button to expand this section to see extra details.

If the certificate is not trusted because no issuer chain was provided (sec_error_unknown_issuer) then see if you can install this intermediate certificate from another source. Click the "Add Exception" button to inspect the certificate in the Certificate Viewer.

If you can't inspect the certificate via "Add Exception" then try this:

Open the "Add Security Exception" window by pasting this chrome URL in the Firefox location/address bar and check the certificate:

  • chrome://pippki/content/exceptionDialog.xul

In the location field of this window type or paste the URL of the website with the https:// protocol prefix (https://xxx.xxx).

  • retrieve the certificate via the "Get certificate" button
  • click the "View..." button to inspect the certificate in the Certificate Viewer

You can inspect details like the issuer and the certificate chain in the Details tab of the Certificate Viewer. Check who is the issuer of the certificate. If necessary then please attach a screenshot that shows the Certificate Viewer with the issuer.

You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History -> Show All History" or "View -> Sidebar -> History").

Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks and history and cookies and passwords and cache and exceptions, so be cautious. If you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.

Can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of involved files.

If you revisit a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.

I did more than that, i uninstalled the firefox, went to my drive c:// and deleted all the left files for Mozilla

For the sake to be sure, i installed firefox on my mobile, i never used it before and tried to login to adsense and surprisingly it shows the same error

Which proves that the problem with firefox not my computer or anything related to me i guess

Is in all these cases the same internet connection (ISP) and possibly router used?

Yes, but on the other hand, google opens on chrome with no problem

However after this question i tried to use the mobile data which is a different ISP and it opened on firefox

Now is that from the router or the Isp

If it from my ISP, what should i tell them and why would that happen?

Is it possible that my information is not safe, in other word, is it a suspicious action from ISp?

Thanks
