I am unable to get new Firefox to recognize Java after installing, uninstalling, refreshing, etc.

mhef

I have refreshed, made a new profile, uninstalled and reinstalled java. When I check my plugins, and click on the + below Flash, no Java shows up. Edge and IE recognize it. Any suggestions?

hi mhef, mozilla has announced that it will generally drop support for npapi plugins like java at the end of the year: https://blog.mozilla.org/futurereleases/2015/10/08/npapi-plugins-in-firefox/

since win64 firefox is a relatively new product support for those plugins wasn't added in the first place, so being dependent on java means that you'd have to continue to use the regular firefox 32bit for the next months...
