Two days ago I closed FF and went to bed. I opened it the next morning and lost about 20 tabs. Ever since then, every time I restart FF, I lose all tabs except for one default tab.

TLDR: 1. "restore previous session" is not available. 2. Toggling Settings/Home and Startup does nothing. 3. Update? My FF automatically updates. 4. "about:sessionrestore" finds nothing,

1. FF help said I could go into History and click "Restore Previous Session" but that option doesn't exist. All I can do is look at History and see lists for today, yesterday, last 7 days etc.

2. Another advisory suggested Settings, Home and Startup, select "Open previous windows and tabs". but it was already selected. So I switched it off, restarted FF and then switched it back on. I still lose all tabs every time I restart FF.

3. Another advisory suggested, checking for updates. My FF automatically updates.

4. I tried "about:sessionrestore" It returns with the heading: "Sorry. We’re having trouble getting your pages back." Restore session is greyed out and "View previous tabs" produces an empty list. I've tried it a few times now, identical result.

Thanks for any help. Cheers, Andrew

Sorry if this problem have already solved before.

After update 158, I've noticed change of closing tabs when it involve unloaded and unopened tabs. I'll try my best to explain: Pre-update 158 - For example, I have 3 tabs. Left-hand is an unopened tab with coloured icon and no image preview. Middle one is I'm currently on. Right-hand is has been opened but I unloaded it; it has grey icon. When I close the current tab, the browser moves to tab on the right and loads it. This is usual behaviour since I started using Firefox long time ago.

After update 158 - Same example as above but when I close the current tab, the browser moves to one on the left instead.

This change means that the browser no longer moves to right-hand tabs if they're unloaded unless if I choose manually. Also, if I have 4 tabs but #1 is unopened with coloured icon, #2 is unloaded with grey icon, #3 is current tab and #4 is unloaded with grey icon. If I close the current tab, #3, it goes to #1 automatically.

So is there something in config to restore back to previous behaviour?

I want to be able to create multiple default 'pinned" tabs that will appear every time I open up a new window. Is that possible? If so, how? Again, TIA

When using shift+tab or ctrl+shift+tab to cycle between tabs in a window, firefox will occasional skip across one or multiple tabs. This will also happen when clicking tabs directly with the mouse. The tab that should be selected shows briefly before the browser automatically switches to one of the adjacent tabs. I do not have the setting "Ctrl+Tab cycles through tabs in recently used order" enabled. This doesn't happen for any specific tabs or windows consistently, and it doesn't specifically happen to unloaded tabs.

After my macbook pro (Sequoia 15.7.7) restarted, every tab in both of my open Firefox windows were moved to a *tab group in a single window.* The tab group's name is the date—e.g., "2026-10-11 10:50 *". Right-click + `ungroup tabs` does nothing. If I open a new window, it automatically has a tab open in a tab group with a similar name. I can't move tabs into new tab groups. I hate this. I've lost all my previous tab groups, which I use to organize my work and hobbies, and now that's all gone. I've experienced this on TWO macbook pros. I also have a Windows 10 desktop, but that continues to work as expected.

Months ago, I disabled all AI features, and, and so in `about:config`, I can observe that `browser.tabs.groups.smart.*` are all set to false. I also just tried setting `browser.tabs.groups.enabled` to false, but it had no effect.
