Android's settings and automatic screen dimming can make it difficult to read the screen in Thunderbird. Here's how to reduce screen dimming and make Thunderbird more readable.
Table of Contents
General tips and tricks
- A dirty proximity sensor (located near the front facing camera) can cause your screen to dim. To prevent this, keep the area around the front facing camera clean.
- Different manufacturers often have slightly differently named Android settings. Look for Android settings under sections with words like Power saving, Battery, Accessibility and Display. In these sections look for settings related to screen dimming, screen timouts and lock settings and turn off all automatic screen dimming, extra screen dimming (often found in > > ) and increase timeouts for screen locking and battery saving to prevent dimming.
