DNS for HTTPS was added in Oct-2025 for android but was removed for years from Android. Why was DNS over HTTPS removed from Android and only now returned ?

Dear Sir/Madam, Recently I have been having issues accessing a particular website named asus.com for reasons I am unable to discern I keep receiving an error message each time I attempt to access the site. I keep receiving an error message indicating that the site cannot be reached. It should be noted that I do not have any issues with any other websites. I check my internet connection as well but still facing same issue. On my note 4 (Android 6.0.1) i'm using firefox 143.0.3 (Build #2016117407) and youtube stopped working (wheel turns then gives an error) . First i thought it's was the adblock so i disabled but that didn't fix it. So i used a proxy that also didn't worked. Then i used another browser (chrome, opera mini) and they worked. I didn't change any settings. I installed an addon User-Agent Switcher to change firefox desktop version which also didn't worked.
Edit: Opened only HTTPS mod in the options and did a full shutdown of the phone and now it works. I think youtube or someone else changed something and only HTTPS fixed that, not tech savvy enough to find why.

A website has moved a while ago, but when I type in the first few letters, I still get the URL to the now defunct site suggested. I tried long-pressing the entry under "Firefox Suggest", but do not get any options to remove it.
Since the defunct URL starts with the same 10 or so characters as the new one, I always have to type a lot to get to the correct page. On the other hand, I use it to rarely to warrant a bookmark.
