I am trying to reset the settings for an extension (kee kee), but when I uninstall it and reinstall it the previous settings are still retained.

Is there a way to remove to stored settings for an extension?

Many thanks, Martin

The Intel TRUEKEY add-on/extension will no longer work in Firefox 79.0. It still works in a previous version but Mozille has made rolling back extremely difficult.

Suspiciously, now TRUEKEY ONLY works in the Edge browser, which I do not want to use.

Is Mozilla aware of this problem and the fact that until it is resolved people are being forced to use the Edge browser if they want to be able to use their password manager?

The symptoms are: the add-on loads successfully, you see the Truekey icon in the menu bar, but when you click on it, NOTHING. The app does not launch, there is no activity whatsoever.

Help would be appreciated. Barb

Hi. For about a month or two, I suffer from strange Firefox bug (I always use the latest final version, but when diagnosing the issue, I even tried previous versions to no avail) on always up-to-date Windows 10 Professional 64bit. The problem is that after some time of using clean user Firefox profile, I get to collect certain cookies (I guess) that prevent various sites from loading on the first try (sometimes it gets loaded partially, sometimes not at all, but when attempting to reload the page, it works fine then). I tried everything that was suggested in guidelines and nothing helped me to solve the problem. I even deleted my Firefox Sync account and created a new one. But the only thing that works is deleting cookies or disabling them. But that makes Firefox unusable for me. That is just a workaround, not a permanent solution.

I captured the issue on a video: youtu[DOT]be[SLASH]fuB25Mdv70I

Previous threat with preliminary and detailed information can be found here support[DOT]mozilla[DOT]org/cs[SLASH]questions[SLASH]1292150 , but it seems dead to me by now.

Any ideas? Thanks.

I was using Firefox in my computer and it was working fine. But after I migrated to windows 10 Os and installed Firefox, I am facing some issues with Firefox. First of all, the gmail.com page is not loading correctly (image added). Also some websites like geeksforgeeks and other websites are having trouble to show some images (mainly).

- what I tried doig previously. 1. Doing ctrl + shift + r on those pages 2. Uninstalling and reinstalling firefox with clearing firefox app data folder from windows computer. 3. Doing a refresh from help menu. 4. Tried running in safe mode. (disabling all extensions) 5. Clearing cache and data from firefox settings.

How how to show them perfectly. however they show good in chrome, but I want to use firefox. So a fix will be highly appreciated.

A few weeks back, videos on some sites stopped working. Facebook and Netflix are notable examples, though YouTube doesn't seem to be affected. I've tried netflix in private mode (ie with extensions disabled) and have the same problem.

I'm running:

  • Firefox 79.0
  • Ubuntu 20.04 LTS
  • OpenH264 Video Codec add-on version 1.8.1.1
  • Widevine CDM add-on version 4.10.1582.2
  • libavcodec-extra and libavcodec-extra58 Ubuntu packages version 7:4.2.4-1ubuntu0.1

All the plugins have automatic updates enabled and I've checked that the "Play DRM-controlled content" option in firefox preferences is enabled.

Have I missed something I should check? Are others having this problem?

Hello,

when I updated the Windows 10 to it's latest version, all websites stopped showing in the Firefox browser. When I try to type a url and press enter, nothing is showing up (https://imgur.com/13i6kNc). Extensions are also not showing up (https://imgur.com/gfVqWap). Not even Firefox settings (https://imgur.com/xO0D2cJ). Other browsers are working normally (I tried Internet Explorer 11, Google Chrome 84 and Opera 70).

Thank you for taking your time to read this.

I just can't seem to get the gnome extension to work. When I use GE in Chrome, it works perfect. The feature I can't seem to get working is when you select an extension it won't give you the option to turn it on. I've tried everything that was suggested but it still doesn't work. Any ideas/suggestions ?

I recently installed Firefox as my default browser on my laptop with windows 10. When I try to download an svg file to my computer, it comes in as a Microsoft Edge HTML Document that isn't compatible to my Silhouette Crafting Program. It doesn't give me an option to download from Firefox. I changed to Firefox to get away from Microsoft Edge. I don't know where to find any settings to correct this? What do I need to do? TIA

With reference to this article: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Trusted_Recursive_Resolver

For network.trr.mode 3:

Note the use of "native resolver," a common term for the OS settings as in, for example, in Windows, Internet Protocol Properties under Ethernet Properties, the General tab.

Given that, what exactly is meant by "regular DNS"?

Thank you.

FF 78.0.1 -- Every new release brings a new subset of problems. New releases are not well thought out...or tested. Features added that the FF developers think will 'help' are often scourges and plagues ! Am sick of new problems with every release. And the continuous Nags to download the latest release ! I ticked on a piece of paper today all the upgrade Nags. I can't deal with 43 nags again !

On YouTube I used to be able to let videos play, one of the other, all night long. And I could lay down and relax and listen to history, which I love. Undisturbed, videos would play for days. Now I am freaking fighting frequent interruptions and I have to get out of bed and re-select "Allow Audio and Video". My blown-out knee will utterly not tolerate all those ups and downs from the bed. Get that part ? FF randomly shuts down my playlists and queued videos. Can I revert to an earlier release that used to work with no hassles ?

I have looked into this at great length and looked at loads of forum 'answers'. None work.

Respond and tell me to do About:Config for the 112th time and I will throw something at you ! NONE OF THOSE SETTINGS WORK !!! I want the icon and everything associated with it gone ! Deleted. Trashed. Dead. Nuked. Obliterated.

I have had more than enough of this...

I'm on Linux Mint 19 Cinnamon. Just upgraded to Firefox 79.0

Firefox opens no problem. I start to type in a url and it shows autocompletions like normal, but when I press enter, nothing happens. No processing indicator, just white screen. The same happens for `about` pages like about:config.

If I open a new tab or (private) window, I get the "Firefox has been updated in the background" message with the button to restart. Click it and it restarts in the same state.

I've double checked that when it closes, there are no firefox processes running.

Everything behaves the same if I start it from the command line with "firefox --safe-mode".

When started from the command line there is a slew of this error:

      1. !!! [Parent][MessageChannel] Error: (msgtype=0x390132,name=PContent::Msg_AsyncMessage) Channel error: cannot send/recv

Help?

It sounds like peak laziness, but I'm not a fan of opening a menu every time I want to change search engine nor do I want to use a prefix (though I suppose I wouldn't mind 'g' instead of '@google', 'ddg' instead of '@duckduckgo').

I'd like to have more than one search bar akin to the one you can choose adjacent to the address bar--each with its own search engine. If such a tweak doesn't exist browser-side or even addons-side, I suppose I wouldn't mind dabbling with the code if someone can tell me what file I'd have to go to in order to do this.

I regularly bounce between Google, Bing, and Duckduckgo as the search results vary with each (and, imo, Google has been less reliable as time goes by). Such a tweak would make browsing a lot more convenient for me.
