Several weeks ago, I was attempting to upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11. In the process, I deleted Firefox (using Revo Uninstaller) and then reinstalled it, downloading it from the Mozilla website. Unfortunately, it didn’t run, giving me, at different attempts, different error messages. In the time since then, I have read many suggestions from many different websites and I have tried some of these suggestions, all with no success – until today. I have just completed the suggestions made on https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1327628 and Firefox is now back, working. I am happy and grateful, but not finished. None of my personal data came with the currently functioning version of Firefox. Since the re-emergence of Firefox, I have been reading several websites dealing with copy, backup and restore of my Firefox profile. Right now, the path C:\Users\rsuth\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ shows 5 folders: Two of the folders show 11/11/24 as the date modified (probably the date of the download from Mozilla). The folder 0dppjrfa.default contains one file, times.json, dated 8/11/2020. The other folder, ru82tlj5.default-release, has 97 items, most dated 11/11/2024. The remaining three folders are all dated 12/2/24 (today, as I write this). One folder’s name ends .default, the second name ends .default-release, and the third name ends .default-release-thirteen digits. The question that I am asking here is what do I do next to, hopefully, bring back the personal date I had with Firefox before my updating to Windows 11. Should I delete the folders dated 12/2/24? What, if anything, is the significance of the folder whose name ends in 13 digits? I’m hoping someone will be able to tell me how to fix these Firefox problems. And if I can, then I hope to be able to do something similar to help me bring back Thunderbird as well. Thunderbird became unfunctioning at the same time as Firefox. Thank you.

I've been having issues with Cross-Origin Request Blocked errors for a while now. I'm on Windows 11. I first noticed this issue when visiting YouTube. I would go to play a video and any video I tried to play would just load forever and never play. Then I noticed I was having the same issue on Facebook. The page would load but then a majority of the images wouldn't. I can use YouTube and Facebook just fine on Chrome. The reason for the error shows as "CORS request did not succeed". Initially I tried uninstalling all of my extensions. Then I completely uninstalled Firefox using Total Uninstall (for good measure). Nothing has worked. I'm not sure what changed that would cause these errors. Could this be a network issue? I've been having issues with certain sites on my Macbook Air as well (Chrome and Safari) but I thought maybe that was because it's pretty old and not supported by apple anymore.

What has happened to the "More actions" menu button - the one that normally is in the upper left corner of windows (see the attached image)?

I have just installed a new PC, with Debian 12 and KDE (plasma 5.27.5); the other windows have this menu button, but not Firefox and Thunderbird. Is there a way to get it back, eg by moving the menu bar out of the title bar and back to where it used to be?

My computer suffered from a spammer who bypassed SuperAntispyware, Malwarebytes, and Windows 11 Defender. I did not know at first what had happened, having never encountered this.

Once I knew that I would need to take the computer to a repair shop, I removed the log-on so that the repair shop would not need to enter it each time they had to restart. The problem for which I am seeking advice was how to restore the password that one sees when waking a password-protected computer.

I had only done that a few times over a number of years, and thought that it would be simple. I started looking up how to do this, began to encounter all sorts of methods, none of which would work. I finally realized that with the passage of time, the way(s) to do this have changed. Given the plethora of perhaps well-meaning but wrong, expired, etc. methods, I posted on the Windows 11 Forum; quite to my surprise, the only person so far to respond has sent me two links. He admitted that the first was incorrect, so I tried the second, only to find myself bewildered, wondering what that site had to do with what I was asking for.

Earlier today, it seemed to me that I should post here. I have read about the Master Key, which might serve my needs. As I have never used one, and as I store my passwords in KeePass and don't want to change that, would creating one to be used only when logging on, and continuing with KeePass work for me?

Yes, this is somewhat lengthy. My missive is to try to explain what happened, what I have endeavored to accomplish, and post in the hope that I can once again be able to lock my computer. The chance of it being stolen given where we live is slight, but even though my actual log-on password is short, the average thief, so to speak, likely would not figure it out. Having a password serves more for my comfort that anything else.

Thanking you in advance, lest I forget.

Strictly as an aside, the time and effort I have taken so far reminds me of the twenty-seven months involved in my establishing a fire protection district, with perhaps 95% of those efforts being mine. I won that battle, I would like to win this one.

I am increasingly unable to complete transactions using Firefox. I've been a Firefox users for years and I've never encountered as many problem as I am now. Websites give me error messages saying they are unable to confirm my log-in credentials, or something similar. I've contacted a number of vendors who say that they are noticing an increase in the number of customers saying the same thing. My only recourse has been to place the order on the phone OR use another browser. What's up? Thanks.

Hi, have been a Firefox devotee for years. Currently have a problem accessing some sites including https://dashboard.mailerlite.com/login which I access via another email address. The problem is that when i click login nothing happens - there is no pop up or similar - the attached image results, suggesting a reCaptcha failure. But I don't see anything.

When using Chrome, I do not get the same challenge, so clearly to me, a setting in Firefox.

Appreciate any help on offer,

thanks

Charles

Dear Mozilla Support Team,

I am writing to you today to report a persistent issue I am having while trying to access Pinterest (www.pinterest.com). Whenever I attempt to visit the website, I encounter the following error message:

Pinterest Secure Connection Failed An error occurred during a connection to www.pinterest.com. PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR

I have tried troubleshooting this issue by:

Clearing my browser cache and cookies. Restarting my computer. Trying a different web browser. Disabling any ad-blockers or extensions. Unfortunately, none of these solutions have resolved the problem. I am using Windows 11 and have attached a screenshot of the error message for your reference.

I would greatly appreciate it if you could provide me with some guidance on how to resolve this issue. I am unable to access Pinterest, which is causing significant inconvenience.

Thank you for your time and assistance.

Sincerely, Hatice Bozkurt
