Hello, Thank you for helping me with my email problem today. The issue that I am having is that whenever I try to send email from 2 - of my 3 - email addresses I get the following error messages-

Message from electric@triad.rr.com email.

I did read and try the various suggestions that this forum made to someonme in reference to a similar problem. The emails did appear to match in settings for SMTP and I think I temporarily turned off my virus protection software. However none of these actions have solved my problem.

If someone would please make some more recommendations I would greatly appreciate it.

Archiving emails to Local Folders is not working for me.

If I click the archive icon or press 'A', a new folder is created as required in my Local Folders/Archives, e.g. [Gmail]/Important. But the original email does not move, no emails are shown in my Local Folders nor do they seem to exist in the folders or files created: [Gmail], [Gmail.sbd], Important (empty) and Important.msf.

I have picked up that I need to set archiving options by identity as well as by account. The problem remains the same whichever IMAP account, which is Gmail and another smaller provider, or identity I use. Before I realised that, archiving did work - in terms of emails being moved to an archive folder within an IMAP account. But I want to download the emails locally to avoid going over provider storage limits. I've checked and Thunderbird can otherwise create new messages in Local Folders, e.g. when my network connection is interrupted it saves drafts there.

I'm using Thunderbird 115.11.0 on Ubuntu 24.04 / Wayland, and it's installed as a snap. Many thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

I was using the latest version of Thunderbird 115.11.0. It stinks. It's slow and very buggy. It's the same on all my Windows 10 PCs. I have uninstalled it and went back to V78.13.0 (64-bit). It is MUCH better. And it retains features that were annoyingly removed in later versions.

Why do you keep "improving" Thunderbird when the older versions were perfectly good? Is this because you needed it to look "modern"? That's BS because it will look outdated by next year anyway.

Why did you change the configuration files? I had to re-enter my accounts and address book.

For about the last month or so, I frequently get an error message that my password is incorrect.

I use Thunderbird to manage emails on five separate accounts. Four are gmail accounts and I NEVER have an issue with those.

The issue only occurs with my oldest email account, which is an ".msn" account - a paid Microsoft account.

I can send and receive mail on this account without any issues when I use Outlook online through my Firefox browser, but when I try to use through Thunderbird, I get the password error message more often than I don't. In other words, sometimes the emails go through, but most of the time they do not. When I copy and paste the text of the email into the web browser version, there is never any problem and I am NEVER asked for my password.

Every now and then, when the message pops up, I attempt to re-enter my password, but most of the time it still won't send, and the error message re-appears almost immediately. I have changed the password twice, but that has no effect on the error message.

I would be very appreciative of any assistance.

after the download of v.126.0 i discover my history, all of it, has been deleted. in its place is a single web site, which shows up as the only web site visited across a time span going back months. this single web site cannot be deleted from the history. it cannot be deleted through the settings menu. no new history is created by web visits. the persisting single web site is among the sites in my tool bar, but is also a site i have not recently visited (months before this happened).

Hi I am having problems with Thunderbird, i’m not sure if it’s to do with a windows 11 update or something else. Thunderbird is not responding also at the start of the ‘not responding’ emails from one of my accounts disappeared and then gradually started to reappear but didn’t get up to date and now just not responding st all. I have tried various things to resolve this, uninstalling and reinstalling Thunderbird, doing this and opening my pc in safe mode, doing this and opening Thunderbird in safe mode. Deleting and reinstalling the latest windows 11 update, reinstalling the latest Thunderbird update. I don’t know what to try next? I read somewhere to delete your profile, after saving it, and getting a new profile but no idea how to do this. Any help appreciated.

Based on https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/glib/-/issues/2833, I gather that this crash happens when you have some malformed xdg-mime data. I'm trying to figure out what data that is and where it's stored so I can fix it.

The crash report doesn't show me the arguments, so I can't tell what mime type it's trying to load. Maybe it's not available due to the way the library is built, or maybe it's not available due to the crash report hiding potentially private data. Or both. Can anyone tell me how to see what mime type it's looking up? Or do you know what mime type it would be looking up when saving a PDF? `xdg-mime query default application/pdf` works fine so it's not just looking for a handler, there must be some sort of weird "MIME type" for "file browser" that it's trying to use.

Hi all!

A while back I downgraded my Firefox version to some old version to be able to access a FortiGate 310B. However when I upgraded back and started using the latest version my search completion stopped working, but my search completion is turned on. It shows things I've already searched for, but it's not fetching new completions. I lived with this for a while since I couldn't be bothered to fix it, but I recently moved to linux, and copied all my data, I did this by just copying the profile folder and moved into into a new profile I created on linux. It worked, my bookmark, history, passwords etc are saved, but still no completion. I tried creating a new profile and the search completion worked perfectly fine. Do you guys have any tips or things I could try? Or do I just give up and move to a new profile, since this one is presumably corrupt?

Any help is appreciated, cheers :)

Hello, I have a problem: After an automatic update of the language packs, parts of the Firefox menu (version 126.0) are displayed in EN. Parts in DE. My email for my domain (Gailfisher@Resourcesforchange.com) hosted by GoDaddy. Has been working correctly for years, but now when trying to send from TB, I get a message to enter password that does not work (it does work on my webhost's platform). Using Windows 10, TB version 115.11.0. BTW, I have another email via AOL that is working just fine on TB. I tried Safe mode -no go I tried following GoDaddy's instructions for IMAP but also did not work. FYI The GoDaddy help desk said: "Please match the server settings with the below server settings. Username Your email address Password Your email account's password Incoming servermail.[your domain name] Incoming ports IMAP - 143 POP - 110 Outgoing servermail.[your domain name] SMTP (outgoing) ports25 (587 or 80 might also work) IMAP use port 143" I tried setting up a new account in TB using email adddress and a new username, but that created the same problem. Perhaps I am the only one experiencing this issue but it is causing such an issue for me that I am afraid I will need to abandon this browser. I never in my life thought an internet browser displaying the forums for the browser would require so many processes.

Am I the only one? I have a pretty basic experience going on here but this is causing such a struggle I might need to find a new browser. I just don't understand how this even gets to be this way.

I am very grateful for a couple of advantages this browser occasionally showcases and I really don't want to migrate to another browser across my devices. All of the options I have read in this forum are pretty much disabled by the updates to Firefox but I am willing to try just about anything within reason that won't be quickly screwed up by another update.

My apologies if I sound frustrated, but come on that's a lot of processes to show your support page and it's eating up so many resources that could be used to trouble shoot my projects in a timely manner. This impacts performance to the point that I can't watch a tutorial with nothing else going on while working with GDevelop.

Can't permanently delete a folder

I permanently deleted all messages in a folder (call it "Unwanted"), then moved Unwanted to Trash, then deleted it permanently. It appeared to be gone. However the next… (funda kabanzi)

I permanently deleted all messages in a folder (call it "Unwanted"), then moved Unwanted to Trash, then deleted it permanently. It appeared to be gone. However the next time I opened Thunderbird, Unwanted was back. I tried this several times with the same result. I tried renaming it to "DeleteMe" but then I got the message "The folder could not be renamed. Perhaps the folder is being reparsed, or the new name is not a valid folder name."

Once again, I "permanently" deleted Unwanted and closed Thunderbird. Using a file manager, I found and deleted all relevant folders and files matching "Trash.*" and "Unwanted*.*" and rebooted the computer. However when I opened Thunderbird, an empty "Trash" folder was regenerated as expected, but the "Unwanted" folder was back.

How can I get rid of Unwanted? Thanks!

I installed Thunderbird and eventually got it working. I download with IMAP and upload with SMTP. TB did a great job downloading gobs of email from Gmail and converting the labels into folders. In a couple cases, it created folders, but none of the emails with that label were downloaded into the folder. FOr example, there is a folder 'PE' and a subfolder " CD Ads'. Emails are present in both. However, in TB, 'PE' is lighter grey and italicized and empty.

The folder structure is not an exact match to the label structure. For example, in the labels, I have an 'Employment' label with 5 employers underneath it. None of the employers made it into TB.

I have a few other oddities too, but lets start with these. I did end up using a normal password to access the account, as 0Auth2 would not cooperate.

I use a Google Workspace account in Thunderbird. I have six main folders and each has sub-folders. I create search folders for each and favorite them so they’re across the top in TB. The individual emails then show up in each and I can chose to only show the unread ones. As far as I know TB is the only email program to allow this and it’s great. Recently I’ll be working away, pleased that I’m not getting inundated with emails, only to find out that I’m missing bunches of emails because the folders aren’t updating. I can open the individual folders and they’ll download new emails, which will then populate the search folders, but not getting to emails in a timely fashion is a problem. Anyone know what’s going on? TIA.

Hi, I've used Wondershare uniconverter for quite a while without issue. Recently, every time I start a download in uniconverter, firefox crashes/closes. I tried troubleshoot mode in firefox with all extensions and add-ons disabled (I only have 1) and also cleared cache and cookies. Issue remains.

Has anyone come across this and/or has any suggestions?

I am using Firefox browser (version: 126.0 64 bit) on Windows 11 Pro. Audio is automatically muted on all Kick broadcasts. (https://kick.com) When I refresh the page or click another streamer, I have to unmute the broadcast.

(I do not have this problem in the Google Chrome browser)
