A few days ago it started with youtube. I wasn't able to watch videos and at the beginning didn't think much of it( i had the problem before but not for so long ). Then I tried to find the solution in the web but then I noticed I couldn't open a lot of sites like the Opera download page or the "uninstall flash player" page. I tried everything what was suggested in here :http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/931459#answer-349737 but nothing helped. I thought if I find where the problem whit youtube is I would find the solution for the sites . btw I wasn't able to update Java too. So, can somebody help me, please?

Thanks for the help. I know where the problem was: Flash player. I don't know why it screwed up things so much, but i got lucky and opened the site "Uninstall flash player". I uninstalled it properly, rebooted and installed the previous version. Now everything is OK.

I noticed your Opera link is directly to an .exe (executable) file. Was the problem on the Adobe site also with a link to an .exe file?

If you are running into a lot of seemingly unrelated issues, you might consider trying the new Reset feature? This duplicates certain key data from your active settings folder into a new one, bypassing some add-ons and custom settings. Your plugins will still be active, but other add-ons would need to be reinstalled.

More information in this article: Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings.

If the new settings folder has the same problem, you can switch back if you like using Firefox's Profile Manager. (See this article, but please don't delete/remove any profiles for a while until you are confident that you don't need them: Profile Manager - Create, remove or switch Firefox profiles.)

Does it make any difference?

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Well i tried everything. I cleaned my cookies and caches, I did a reset, made a new profile and run Firefox in safe mode. Nothing helped. But I wanted to be sure that it's not from my computer and tried to open the sites from my mobile phone with opera mobile. The same problem appeared. My phone has a different internet provider. That means that it can't be the browser, nor the provider, nor my computer. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I live in Austria :D . But my question still remains: What is going on? Can it be a major problem with Flash player or is it something else?

P.S. Not all sites were with an .exe . Normal sites too.

When you tested on your mobile, were you on the same network (e.g., wi-fi through the same router and ISP) or on a different network?

No. Totally different. The mobile uses the internet from my phone provider. They have nothing in common .
