Did you try to reboot the computer, possibly in Windows Safe Mode with network support to see if that has effect?

You can check for issues with the places.sqlite database (bookmarks and history).
- use the "Places Database" -> "Verify Integrity" button further down on the "Help -> More Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page
- https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/use-troubleshooting-information-page-fix-firefox
If errors are reported with "Verify Integrity", then close and restart Firefox or reboot and retry.
