SSL peer error started today
I installed Thunderbird 2 months ago and it has been working fine until today. Upon sending an email I get this error box: (see image) If I try sending it again it usually just sends normally. Sometimes it takes 4 or 5 tries to go. I have no idea why this is happening. I have not changed anything. Any ideas?

Thanks for trying to help with this strange problem. It was SO strange that when I started my computer the next morning (I always shut it off every night) all emails sent worked perfectly! The problem has not reoccured since that day. So the recomendation to anyone with this problem is to simply RE-BOOT your computer and it should go away.

Are you using a secure mail key in place of the password for this AT&T account? What's the antivirus on the computer?
I am using the secure mail key. No extra anti-virus software, just Windows 10 as I read that works OK.
Last year there was a common error message about a 'peer error' related to mail servers not supporting the minimum version of TLS required by TB. But I don't recall this was an issue with AT&T. You could try changing the preferences mentioned in this topic and see if it makes any difference, although I suspect there is something else causing the error.
