Thunderbird Crashes Immediately Upon Launch. Running on Windows 7 Professional (64).
Hi!
How can I fix Thunderbird?
Within seconds of launch, it crashes.
I am running Windows 7 Pro (64).
This problem began during the second week of November, 2020.
Because of the instantaneous crashes, I don't know how to tell you what version of Thunderbird I am using.
I have been using Thunderbird for more than ten years. I suspect that some of my profile folders are large.
I am attaching a screen shot of 'Crash Reports'.
I appreciate your help, and look forward to hearing from you.

Try starting TB in safe-mode (hold shift button on your keyboard while launching TB) and when it opens from there send us the crash IDs (which start with bp) https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/mozilla-crash-reporter-tb#w_viewing-crash-reports

If you can't start TB, in normal or safe mode, post the last few crash IDs in this folder:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Crash Reports\submitted
The IDs are the names of the text files named bp-......txt.
In the meantime, run Windows in safe mode to test the effect of startup apps such as antivirus.
Hi, svlad2009!
I started Thunderbird in Safe Mode.
In Safe Mode, Thunderbird seems to work.
Will you explain why Safe Mode prevents Thunderbird from crashing?
Thank you!
In safe mode almost all (if not all) add-ons does not start/work so then the root cause of the problem might be an add-on...
Hi, svlad!
Thank you for explaining!
kayeskenazi, what were your crash IDs ?
