Hi

The permission to load or block images has been removed from the user interface quite some time ago. There is still permissions.default.image present on the about:config page that is 1 by default to accept all images (2 means block images).

Do you have content blocking extensions that could be blocking images?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration or userChrome.css is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window
