Search text
I have search text while typing checked in my options but when I search, it doesn't do this. It used to and now it doesn't so I have no idea what you people are doing to make it change all the sudden.

Hi, this option doesn't work if the cursor is in a form field, so the first thing to check is that. You can just click on the body of the page to move the cursor out of any form field. From that point, when you start typing, Firefox should open the Quick Find bar and show your text there. Do you get the bar?
While we sort that out, Ctrl+F will call up the full Find in page experience, so that's one possible workaround.
Hi, No I didn't have to do that before. I click in search bar at top like in Yahoo and start typing and as I type, it shows me stuff as in the options I have checked and still won't do it!!! It used to do it before fine before this last update. I would like to know from someone what the heck is wrong here why its all changed!! Thanks
Do you mean in Firefox's address bar, the drop-down no longer shows the usual kinds of suggestions as you type:

To check for a possible database corruption issue, could you let us know what you get when you run the "Verify Integrity" function. That's here:
Open Firefox's Troubleshooting Information page using any of these methods:
- "3-bar" menu button > "?" Help > Troubleshooting Information
- (menu bar) Help > Troubleshooting Information
- type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter
Near the bottom, there is a section titled Places Database -- that's the file which stores history and bookmarks. Click the button labeled Verify Integrity. There may be a 10-15 second delay before results appear.
If all is well, the report that appears below the button should start with:
> Task: checkIntegrity + The places.sqlite database is sane + The favicons.sqlite database is sane
Does yours say that, or something else? You can select and copy the report, and then paste it into a reply for review and comment.
