Firefox suddenly stopped using system proxy server settings but Safari has no problems in accessing my unviersity via the proxy server, and it too is set to use the system settings.

I checked the correct box on Firefox (auto proxy config) and listed the URL. Nothing changed, and then FF stoped allowing access. All other browser functions are OK.
