whenever I try to login to the Home Depot website via the above url: www.homedepot.com or www.homedecorators.com I get this reply: "the connection to www.homedepot.com was interrupted while the page was loading.

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem."

I have contacted Home Depot and they say all is good. I used my iPod which has web capabilities and it can connect to both of those websites. The new version of Firefox must have some kind of security I need to change. Please help.

Avast and other such programs have caused issues of late. Make sure all of your programs are up to date.

Make sure you are not blocking content.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Thanks Fred but this did not work. I also have cleared my cookies and cache. Again no luck. I am working my way down the Troubleshooting list and I'm just getting ready to remove and replace Firefox. Since this problem also happens when using Safari I doubt that removing and reinstalling will help.

Start your Computer in safe mode with network support. Then start Firefox. Try Safe websites. Is the problem still there?

Thanks again. I tried the 'safe' mode and I was able to briefly to connect to the Home Depot website. When on the website I asked to see a particular item and once the search for that began it once again gave me the prompt that the search was unable to find the requested website. Could this be an anti-virus problem? I am running the free version of Avast.

I disabled, briefly, the Web antivirus portion of my Avast and was able to connect to the website. According to Firefox my browser is up to date. Thanks again for the help.
